The dorsal side of the wrist contains the “extensor tendons”. These tendons are surrounded by a tube called the tendon sheath. Inflammation of this sheath can lead to tenosynovitis.
Symptoms
- Pain on radial side of wrist
- Pain while holding or cradling a newborn
Discomfort and pain are described by patients as a dull, aching throb that is on the side of the wrist. T
Risk Factors
- overuse of the hand
- recent pregnancy
- holding a newborn for extended periods of time
